The area from Mullet Bay to Cupecoy Beach (which is also the border to the French side) has become one of the most attractive regions of the Dutch side. Mullet Bay itself is the quintessential Caribbean beach, popular with both visitors and island residents, and runs along the island's only 18-hole golf course.
The Starz Casino and the adjacent cluster of restaurants is closed, but there is now a casino at Porto Cupecoy.
The American University of the Caribbean is an important part of Sint Maarten's economy. The area is abuzz with students as usual. Around the campus in a neighborhood called Jordan Village are several affordable and fun eateries, catering to the budgets of the students.
This is a community with a first-rate yacht harbor, all amenities of a 5-star complex and condominiums to match the star rating. Many units are offered as vacation rentals. A central plaza overlooks the marina and is home to several excellent restaurants and shops.
