The growing sport of Pickleball has now a new home at the Tennis Center of the Country Club at Port de Plaisance.
Pickleball is not just a sibling of tennis, even though it can be played on re-arranged tennis courts. This ball game combines elements of racketball, badminton, and table tennis. A wooden paddle is used as a racket, and the ball is hard plastic with holes. Pickleball is a demanding sport but has the advantage of being a bit easier on the joints than tennis; this is the reason why the game is popular not only with young athletes but also competitors advanced in age.
Free Pickleball lessons are available to all. The court fee is $10 per player per day, or you might go for a low-cost annual membership.
