Among the Italian restaurants in the Simpson Bay region, Sale e Pepe stands out by focusing on the pleasures of the regional dishes of Sicily. Chef Davide Zagami, who was born on the Italian island and his wife Scarlet already attracted a loyal following at their first location next to the Commodore Suites Hotel. Waiting in line for a table is not customary on St. Maarten, but if you wanted to enjoy Davide's creations without much delay, you better made a reservation as space was limited.
Superb New Waterfront Location for Sale e Pepe
Recently they moved into a brand-new lagoon-front building in the heart of Simpson Bay. Sale e Pepe features now air-conditioned indoor dining and a large waterfront outdoor terrace.
No expense has been spared to create a breathtaking, sophisticated design for the dining spaces. Entering the restaurant, there are a bar and a small waiting area. A wide corridor lined with tables leads past the kitchen and to the back, where there is more indoor seating and finally the generous terrace, overlooking the lagoon and moored yachts.
How Is the Dining Experience at Sale e Pepe?
We tremendously enjoyed a recent dinner at Sale e Pepe, at a time the restaurant was filled to capacity. Remarkably, service was friendly and swift, the complex orders of the table arrived exactly as ordered and timely. And most importantly: food qualtiy, preparation, and presentation were fantastic.
You'll find Sale e Pepe in the Sky Port Marina Building, which is located on Airport Road, right next to the Texaco station.
