The community of Simpson Bay and the adjacent neighborhood of Pelican Key have resumed operations fastest after the recent hurricane. For the upcoming winter season 2017/18 we strongly recommend booking your accommodations in this area.

Here you'll find over forty restaurants and bars ready to serve you. The Hollywood Casino is welcoming players, while several nightclubs keep the party going until the wee hours of the morning.

For Beach Lovers

Kimsha Beach behind the Atrium Beach Resort is right in the core of the entertainment district, served by the Buccaneer's Beach Bar and the Greenhouse Restaurant. The long stretch of Simpson Bay Beach welcomes the return of Karakter Beach Bar, a favorite of residents and locals. Beautiful Mullet Bay Beach is only a ten minute car ride away. The local BBQ shacks are open for drinks and food.

Reality Check

The fun spirit of St. Maarten is alive and kicking! You are going to have a great time if you are comfortable in spending your beach days and evenings in the Simpson Bay region, with an occasional shopping spree to Philipsburg.

But you need to accept that the scars of Hurricane Irma are visible. Many buildings were only patched up, others will still be in ruins, especially if you venture outside the zone of Simpson Bay.
