Mary's Boon Beach Resort & Spa
About four decades ago, Mary's Boon Beach Resort opened as a small Caribbean hotel on Simpson Bay Beach. Much has changed since the seventies on Sint Maarten, but the magic of this romantic gem amongst St. Maarten's hotels has been carefully preserved and further polished.
All of the 31 rooms are decorated and furnished in vibrant Caribbean colors, matching the visual impact of the turquoise sea only steps away from each room. The accommodations come in different sizes, from a hotel-room/studio with basic kitchen facilities to full sized vacation apartments with separate living rooms. Modern conveniences such as air conditioning and cable TV (US channels) are standard.
Secluded, yet only minutes away from St. Maarten's bustling nightlife, with countless restaurants, bars, nightclubs and casinos, Mary's Boon is probably in the most privileged location possible for a beach resort on this small island.
Leaving Mary's Boon might not even appeal to many guests: the resort's restaurant The Tides has developed a reputation as one of the most romantic dining spots, with an extensive wine list and exquisite cuisine – the only dining room set directly at the beach.
At cocktail time and during the evening hours, drinks are expertly mixed by the restaurant's bartender, but during daytime, guests are welcome to help themselves, applying the honor system.
